How self-awareness helped one medspa triple its footprint
and dramatically increase revenue
How did Laura Jeannette and Co. help a medspa client expand their revenue by 74% and open two additional locations in 2023? Read on to find out!
Growing a business to significant levels requires industry-leading experts on staff, an incredible client experience, and top-tier modalities. It also requires self-awareness. Yes, self-awareness is a huge part of growth in the ever-evolving, complex medical aesthetics field. As a busy medspa owner juggling many things, you must recognize your strengths and weaknesses and make solid decisions based on that knowledge.
Ultimately, self-awareness (and Laura Jeannette and Co.) led the owners of one medspa client to massive success in 2023.
Both owners are board-certified nurse practitioners with over 25 years in the medical field, so they are experts in treating and caring for patients. And after focusing on medical aesthetics for the last decade, they know what patients want to feel beautiful in their skin. They also know they want to keep growing their business. However, as busy practice owners and highly sought-after practitioners, they have limited bandwidth.
The owners realized that expanding to multiple locations would be challenging without the right expertise or an extensive business background. At the same time, they were adamant about keeping up their exceptional reputation, which meant their main focus needed to be on the clients and the services.
In December 2022, they hired Laura Jeannette and Co. to help their medspa reach new heights. For them, this would mean multiple locations with incredible staff making unprecedented sales numbers. And that’s exactly what we made happen with our comprehensive growth strategy. The strategy included research, training, operations, and planning. Every component was tied to the larger goal of setting up the business for continual growth.
We began by doing research for the client, which included identifying modalities, products, and best practices that would align with their target market and translate into multiple locations. Additionally, we researched new product lines to implement and tightened up the services menu.
Another value-add for the client was the organization and structure we implemented. We helped the team optimize operational efficiencies and streamline processes like ordering products and supplies. We also created procedures such as an employee handbook and a sales training program for the staff.
Our training plan included educating the staff on ingredients, teaching how to convert in the treatment room, nurturing patient growth, and retaining patient conversions. To prepare for growth, we helped them lay out a staffing plan that included protocols for hiring, onboarding, and ensuring continued training. We also implemented a perks and gratis program for the staff, which helped with both staff and client retention.
All of these pieces were part of a larger strategy that ultimately led the team to scale to three locations. In the medspa world, multiple locations have a tremendous competitive edge, so the fact that our team helped the owners get to that level in one year was an incredible accomplishment.
